action alert! A terrified bear recently mauled a monkey to death at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. Close Shanghai Wild Animal Park! please share it helps!     Dear Indra, It's bad enough when any wild animal lives trapped in captivity, stuck in a cage or small space instead of exhibiting their natural behaviors. But the Shanghai Wild Animal Park took it a step further -- they forced a bear and two monkeys to participate in a bizarre "bike race" that terrified all three animals and resulted in the death of at least one monkey. As the bewildered animals "pedaled" their bikes in a circle, spectators clapped and cheered. But their laughter turned to horror when the bikes crashed. The bear, startled into aggression, closed his jaws around one of the monkeys, mauling him to death. The entire incident was caught on video. Bears and monkeys are both highly intelligent animals who need stable family groups and a calm environment. When they must be in captivity, their enclosures should resemble their natural habitats as closely as possible. Forcing them to ride in bikes in front of screaming crowds is inhumane and disgusting. Clearly, the Shanghai Wild Animal Park should no longer be able to keep wild animals for humans' entertainment. Demand its closure immediately. Thank you for taking action, Kathleen Care2 and ThePetitionSite Team
