Toilet paper production is deforesting huge swaths of land

Every minute, TP production destroys 6 NHL-sized hockey rinks' worth of trees.. Charmin Toilet Paper Is Destroying Canadian Forests Sign Now      Indra,   Forests around the world are being logged and destroyed at a dangerous rate, and toilet paper is one of the culprits.    But it doesn't have to be this way. Major toilet paper producers, like Procter & Gamble, could commit to using sustainable materials instead!   Sign now to demand the multinational corporation Procter & Gamble finally commit to using environmentally friendly materials to create its Charmin toilet paper!   All across Canada in particular, companies are deforesting the boreal forest to create toilet paper. In fact, according to a recent report by the Natural Resources Defense Council, about six NHL-sized hockey rinks' worth of forest are destroyed every minute - just to meet growing demand for bathroom tissue.   Luckily, there are multiple options for producing toilet paper more sustainably. Some companies use 100% recycled content to make their bathroom tissue. Others use bamboo. Both options are better than chopping down millions of trees. Procter & Gamble made over $80 billion in revenue last year. There is no excuse for a company worth hundreds of billions of dollars to continue contributing to deforestation.   Sign the petition now to tell Procter & Gamble: reduce Charmin's impact on the environment! Commit to sustainable toilet paper production now! Thank you, Miranda Care2 Petitions Team P.S. We shouldn't be chopping down entire forests just to wipe our dirty bottoms.
