Another NYC carriage horse has died in the summer heat

It's time to end this cruel practice once and for all. Another Carriage Horse Died on the Streets of New York. It's Time to End This Abusive Practice.      Sign Now      Indra,   Another horse has tragically collapsed and died while pulling a carriage through New York City's streets. This time, it was a 15-year-old mare named Lady, who collapsed at a Manhattan intersection in the sweltering summer heat. Sadly, Lady's death is not an isolated incident. Just two years ago, a horse named Ryder collapsed, sparking outrage that led to Ryder's Law — a bill that would phase out horse-drawn carriages in NYC by June 2026. But while lawmakers stall, horses continue to suffer.   Sign the petition to demand the New York City council pass Ryder's Law before another horse dies!   The truth is simple: these animals are not built for the noise, pollution, and grueling labor of city streets. They suffer heat exhaustion, respiratory distress, and, far too often, sudden and tragic deaths — all so tourists can take a short ride. No horse should collapse and die in traffic for our entertainment. The time for waiting is over. Mayor Adams and the City Council must pass Ryder's Law now to prevent more needless suffering. Sign the petition demanding that NYC finally ban horse-drawn carriages and stop this preventable suffering. Thank you, Jess Care2 Petitions Team P.S. Horses deserve compassion, not a life of exploitation. Sign the petition!      Sign Now
