People are dying in record numbers in ICE custody

This is state-sponsored violence. Immigrants Are Dying in ICE Custody at a Rapid Rate. End the Brutality!      Sign Now      Indra,   U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE, is not protecting anyone — it's destroying lives. Thirteen people have already died in ICE custody in 2025 alone. That's more deaths than the past three administrations have seen. A 75-year-old Cuban man who had lived in the U.S. for 60 years. A 45-year-old from Mexico who was discovered "with a ligature around his neck," whose death is still under investigation. A 49-year-old Canadian who was found unresponsive, his government still demanding answers. And still, ICE keeps filling its detention facilities past capacity, locking people up in horrendous conditions just to meet the Trump administration's mass deportation goals. More than 56,000 people are currently trapped in ICE's brutal jails. That's 140% over capacity, and experts say that deteriorating conditions in these overcrowded facilities are part of the reason that people are dying so rapidly.  Many immigrants are detained without charges. The overwhelming majority have never committed a crime. And some never make it out alive. Congress cannot keep giving taxpayer dollars to an agency built on fascism, fear, and now…death. This is not public safety. This is state-sponsored violence. We must act before more lives are lost. Add your name to demand that Congress DEFUND ICE and end this brutality at once! Thank you, Sophie Care2 Petitions Team P.S. This is becoming one of the deadliest years in ICE's history. We must protect immigrants from this brutality. Sign the petition.      Sign Now
